Martina Borg’s Sassari Torres march on in Serie C

Martina Borg was a starter as Sassari Torres chalked up their 16th win of the season after beating Vis Civitanova 6-0 in Serie C.

Sassari remain joint-leaders with Bologna on 49 points with three games left as both teams are vying for the league’s top spot that secures Serie B promotion.

Jelena Marenic opened the score before a Francesca Blasoni extended their lead to 3-0. Flavia Lombardo scored Sassari’s fourth goal before Serbian forward Marenic netted her second of the game. Giulia Redolfi grabbed Sassari’s sixth goal at the death.

Borg’s upcoming commitment with Sassari Torres is an away trip against Cella, next weekend.
