Sharlon Pace confirmed as Gżira United president, stadium project approved by members

Sharlon Pace was reconfirmed as president of Gżira United for another term after the Premier League held its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday.

During the meeting Dr Ian Micallef was confirmed as the club’s secretary while Alex Cassar will serve as treasurer for another term after his position was not contested.

During the meeting, which had as its theme “Going to the Next Level” president Pace spoke to the members about the project the Premier League club are planning to undergo in the coming weeks.

“During this meeting the club’s project planned for Manoel Island was unanimously approved by the club’s members,” the club said in a statement.

“In this project we will have a stadium and a state of the art sports complex. Those present for the meeting had the opportunity to see with their eyes the visual plans of this ambitious project.”

Gżira United FC said that the locality’s vice mayor together with the coucillors present declared during the meeting that they agreed with this project that was presented by Sharlon Pace.

“During this meeting it was also unanimously approved that the club will start the process of transforming itself into a company, as requested by the new rules of the Malta Football Association,” the statement said.

“We are encouraged that the club is undertaking works on various fronts so that both from a sporting aspect as well as organisational we will be better organised. The need of everyone is needed.”
