Following the official launch of the Malta Fair Play Movement, the standing committee, formed by Joe Borg Cardona, Kevin J. Azzopardi, Pierre Cassar, Dr Adele Muscat and chaired by Charles Camenzuli, have announced the first TGS Malta Fair Play Award in conjunction with the Malta Sports Journalists Association and sponsored by Together Gaming Solutions (Bethard Group Ltd).
Żurrieq FC Futsal have been awarded the first award covering the January -April 2021 period.
The act of sportsmanship by Żurrieq FC Futsal occurred in the league match held on January 23 against St George’s, after they allowed the opponents to score to compensate for a goal they had scored when one of St George’s was injured on field of play.
There is also a video which was also published on the social media which documents this act.
The award was given to Żurrieq FC Futsal’s Head Coach Alexei Saliba and Vice-Captain Luke Bugeja, who both were on the court on the day.
The presentation of the TGS Malta Fair Play Award was held on Friday and hosted by Andrea Critien from the Finance & HR Department, Edward Licari Director and Benjamin Delsinger Managing Director at their offices in St. Julian’s.
