Mellieha SC Libertas added another new name on Sunday to their list in Serbian forward Nenad Bukva, after securing big-name coach Adrian Mifsud last week.
In a move for the former Gzira Athleta player – confirmed on the club’s socials – Libertas said Bukva “will be a great asset to the team” as they head into the new season under Mifsud.
Batteries recharged
Mifsud, confirmed on May 30, is a well-known figure in the local basketball community and has coached various men and women’s sides. In a statement, the Mellieha club said: “It is with great pleasure and honour that Mellieha has attracted such a big figure in Maltese basketball history to coach the coming season. Adrian Mifsud will be the head coach of the senior squad in the first division.”
Mifsud returns to the game after a brief hiatus.
“Love this game too much. A few years off recharged my batteries enough to get back into the game,” Mifsud said on a Facebook post after the announcement
