Valletta FC are in talks to sign Ghana midfielder James Arthur and Czech Republic forward Milan Jurdik, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Citizens are working hard in their efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season as they look to rejuvenate their squad after a disappointing 2020-21 season which saw the team fail to qualify to European football.
Last week, Valletta FC have reached an agreement to sign Italian goalkeeper Alessandro Guarnone and Brazilian winger Caio Prado, who were both on the books of Birkirkara FC last season.
However, their transfer activity continued in the last few days and they are engaged in talks to sign Ghana midfielder Arthur and forward Jurdik.
Talks are thought to be at an advanced stage and both players are expected to undergo a medical next week.
Arthur is a very exciting prospect as the 23-year-old started his career in his homeland with Charity Stars before joining the youth ranks of Portuguese giants Porto.
In 2018, he continued his career in Portugal with ARS Martinho and Gil Vicenzte.
Last season, Arthur joined Fafe where he only made four appearances.
On the other hand, Jurdik is an established player in the Czech Republic.
In fact, he played the majority of his career in the Czech Republic where he was on the books of Sparta Prague where he helped them to win the league title in season 2009-10.
From there, he moved to Zbrojovka Brno and Baniv Sokilov.
In 2016 he moved to Austria to join second division side WSG Wattens with whom he won the second division championship in 2019-20.
Last season he joined Floridsdorfer AC where he made 26 appearances and scored seven goals and provided six assists.
