Floriana FC have secured their second acquisition of the January transfer window when they signed Armenian international midfielder Rumyan Hovsepyan, the Premier League club have announced.
The Armenian midfielder is seen as a great transfer coup for the Greens given that he has played at a high level during his career.
In fact, after he donned the colours of Pyunik II and Banants in his homeland, Hovsepyan headed to Ukraine where he joined Metalurg Donetsk.
He then returned to Armenia where he had spells at Pyunik Yerevan, Shirak Gyumri, and Banants again.
In 2019 he joined Bulgarian side Arda Kardzhali before the following year he made the move to Armenian giants Alashkert.
In the past few months, Hovsepyan was a key player for Alashkert and was part of the team that played in the group stages of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Hovsepyan is an established international for Armenia who has represented his country 22 times and managed to score two goals.
Hovsepyan is now in contention to make his debut for Floriana in Sunday’s Premier League clash against Birkirkara.
