GREE Sliema Hotsticks are the new hockey champions for season 2021-22.
The Sliema outfit enjoyed a very positive season where they showed great consistency and managed to overcome the stiff challenge of rivals Qormi Daikin.
In their final match of the national league season, Gree Sliema Hotsticks celebrated their title success in style when they brushed aside White Hart 5-0.
As the scoreline shows, the Blues dominated the match from start to finish as White Hart could do little to confront the superiority of their opponents.
After David Vella put the Hotsticks ahead in the first quarter, Emile Borg made it 2-0.
Borg went on to clinch his second of the match before goals from Christian Sammut and Chris Agius completed a
resounding win for the new champions.
At the end of the match, the Gree Sliema Hotsticks were presented with the championship trophy from Association of Hockey Malta president Gordon Mifsud in the presence of Clifton Grima, the Minister for Education and Sport.
