Raiders Lija bring in Malta U-16’s Francesca Bartolo

Raiders Lija have made another important summer signing as they announce the arrival of 2007-born Francesca Bartolo.

Bartolo’s arrival will add more goal threat for Raiders following the arrival of another highly-rated player in Lexine Farrugia from Birkirkara.

Last season, Bartolo was captain of Mtarfa Żebbuġ in the U-16’s women’s league. The clinical player took the championship by a storm after netting a staggering 31 goals in just 12 games, topping the scoring charts.

Francesca Bartolo unveiled as new Raiders Lija’s player.

During the 2021/2022 season, Bartolo was also part of the U-16’s Malta national team that hosted the UEFA Development Tournament.

With Malta facing Lebanon, Turkey and Republic of Ireland, Bartolo played a part in the tournament and was also given the chance to captain her country.

“Raiders Lija has been improving in recent years and I believe that this club can help to improve even more as a player,” Bartolo told the Times of Malta

With Bartolo, Raiders have added a talented midfielder to their ranks who can be entrusted with both defensive and offensive duties.
