Spearheaded by goal-machine Steve Camilleri, who netted a total of seven goals, Neptunes confirmed that they are the most complete and versatile outfit at the time when they disposed of Exiles with an emphatic win.

While the scoring catalyst for Jovan Popovic’s side was Camilleri, goal-grabber Jake Muscat and the useful Gabriel Pace netted six of the team’s 16 goals between them.

Camilleri collected a hat trick in the first session. Neptunes continued to dominate their opponents in the second session, scoring four goals to one conceded.

On 7-1, the Exiles duo Sean Xerri de Caro and Kurt Griscti made amends to level the third session 2-2.

Exiles still had some fight left but Neptunes kept the upper hand, eventually finishing as the deserved winners.

In fact, in the last session, Neptunes regained the driving seat to pull away on a nine-goal lead.

A superior Marsaxlokk eased to victory against Otters in yesterday’s Division One match in the programme.

The result was practically sealed by the end of the second quarter as Marsaxlokk netted five times to open a 5-2 lead.

In the late sessions, the sides remained locked on five goals apiece as Marsaxlokk ran out easy winners 11-7.

Valletta edged ahead three times for a 3-2 lead after the first session, with the Barracudas levelling matters with their first four goals as the second session was a replica of the first as the Citizens’ lead was extended to two goals.

That advantage was extended again in the third quarter. In the last session, the First Division leaders went on to seal the issue for a clear-cut success for a final 11-6 scoreline.
