Women’s title holders Caffe Moak Luxol will be looking to strengthen their squad ahead of a title defence this coming season. How better to do this than announce new signings, and they did so by confirming new player Gladiana Avila on Sunday.
Mexican player Avila joins after a season in her homecountry with Adelitas and a run of international games in the COCABA Games.
The 5’10 forward played 24 games last season with her former club Adelitas, averaging five points per game at 42.7% from the field. She went 72.3% from the line. Before that, she averaged 22.5 points per game across 12 games played in the Icelandic Division One with IR.
With the Mexican national team, Avila averaged 13.8 points in five COCABA games, going 50% from the field and 81.5% from the line.

All of this adds further attacking power, albeit not from distance, for coach Santino Coppa’s team this coming season who will be hoping to hold onto Brazilian star Palmira Marcal as they defend their crown.
