The new year always brings a promise of hope and change, to tap into these possibilities requires commitment and dedication.
Running a Marathon or Half Marathon is a life-changing and far-reaching experience, empowering the runner way beyond what is the seemingly obvious advantages.
At CORSA we have five good reasons to take part in the Intersport La Valette Marathon on February 5.
REASON ONE
This is a race designed by runners, for runners.
The Intersport La Valette Marathon has been created by Charlie Demanuele, Fabio Spiteri and Matthew Pace, who have a combined experience in sports of almost 85 years of running, cycling and swimming.
As individuals, they have put their body and their mind through some of the most grueling athletic events, pushing through weather conditions, injuries, distances, elevations, and doubts to reach their goal – that of being a better athlete today than they were yesterday.
This experience and passion is the driving force behind the La Valette Marathon; to create a race that pays close attention to the aspects that are important to runners.
REASON TWO
€18,000 Prize Fund across 48 categories.
We have an amazing prize fund for participants, and whether a cash prize is your motivation for taking part or your goal is a PB or just to finish, with 48 categories there is always a chance you will be taking home more than just a medal.
Full Marathon
€1,500 for first place man and woman; €750 for second place; €375 for third place
Half Marathon
€1,000 for first place man and woman; €500 for second place; €250 for third place
Full Marathon and Half Marathon Age Groups – 35/40/45/50/55/60/65/70/75

REASON THREE
Every participant is a winner
And even if you don’t win your category, every participant gets a beautiful medal, fantastic Nike running shirt, and goodie bag worth over €150. This is definitely a prize worth running for!
REASON FOUR
Internationally recognised
The Intersport La Valette Marathon is Malta’s only internationally recognised marathon by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMs).
This means the race is measured, registered and recognised by this international body and all the rules governing internationally recognised races applies to our race.
It also means that your finishing time at La Valette can help you qualify as an athlete for some of the biggest races in the world.
REASON FIVE
Taking part will change your life.
Taking part in a Marathon or Half Marathon is life-changing.
What happens on race day is only the final stage of the whole marathon experience.
Training for a race takes passion and commitment, but also a belief that you can achieve the goal.
Running a marathon requires you to continue to put one foot in front of another until you cross that finish line, and when you do cross that finish line you will feel more empowered to face other life challenges.
At CORSA we know this, and we do all that we can to make sure you have one of the most memorable races of your life.
