Friday’s National Amateur League games also called off
The Malta Football Association announced that it has postponed both matches from the IZIBET FA Trophy as well as games from the National Youth League and the Amateur League that were pencilled for Thursday and Friday due to the inclement weather.
On Thursday, two matches from the Last 16 round of the Izibet FA Trophy were scheduled, with Santa Lucia due to face Marsaxlokk at the Tony Bezzina Stadium while Gżira United were pencilled to face Qala Saints at the Centenary Stadium.
However, the MFA announced that both matches have been postponed due to the inclement weather that hit the islands on Thursday.
Although the MFA has yet to announce when these two matches will be played, it is assumed that they will be played next week along with the other four FA Trophy fixtures that were called off on Wednesday, also for bad weather, namely Ħamrun Spartans-Valletta, Hibernians-Kerċem Ajax, Balzan-Birkirkara and Gudja United-Sirens.
The Malta FA also announced that the two Youth League matches between Senglea Athletic and Siġġiewi and Marsaskala vs St George’s have also been postponed.
Meanwhile, it was also revealed that the two National Amateur League matches, scheduled for Friday, between St George’s and Rabat as well as Msida SJ and Għaxaq have been called off.
