Malta defender was one of the best performers in the recent friendlies against Slovenia, Belarus
Maltese player Zach Muscat continues to make a name for himself in Portuguese football as he is the current leader in the shot-blocking statistic in the top flight.
Although Farense are not competing for silverware or vying for a European spot, they are the team who blocked the most shots in the Portuguese championship – 160 per Fbref, a leading website in European football statistics.
Muscat, sitting first overall in the individual statistic, is responsible for 33 of them while his partner Goncalo Silva has 30.
The Malta player made 24 appearances for Farense in all competitions this season, including last night as they defeated Boavista 2-0.
Farense are ninth on 30 points with six games left.
Last month, he picked his 63rd and 64th cap for Malta in two impressive showings against Slovenia and Belarus.
