Ħamrun Spartans have added another attacking reinforcement when they agreed terms to sign Brazilian forward Raphael Lopes, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Reds have been working hard in the past weeks to strengthen their squad ahead of their upcoming commitments in the UEFA Champions League where they will take on Gibraltar side Lincoln Red Imps.
Coach Alessandro Zinnari has been looking to strengthen his forward line and he set his sights on offering a contract to Brazilian forward Lopes.
The 25-year-old started his career in Portugal in the youth ranks of Esmoriz before moving back to his homeland where he played for Atletico Mineiro and Inter Minas.
In the following years he moved to Vila Nova-MG, Porto Vitoria and Portuguesa.
This year, Lopes donned the colours of Rio Branco, where he made six appearances and scored three goals, and Caldense.
Lopes is the Spartans’ fifth Brazilian signing this summer after the Malta champions agreed terms with goalkeeper Celio, defender Mayron, winger Wendel Barros and striker Vitor Manarin.
Lopes could make his first appearance with the Spartans during a friendly against Sliema Wanderers at the Melita Ground on Friday.
