LIJA ATHLETIC 0-1 BIRKIRKARA
Alishia Cassar 51.
An early goal in the second half by Alishia Cassar was enough to earn Birkirkara a narrow win over Lija Athletic.
The Stripes, who were at the back of a huge win over San Ġwann, were the heavy favourites to win this tie.
However, Lija Athletic, who held Valletta to a 1-1 draw in their opener, gave the Stripes a run for their money only for Cassar goal to put daylight between the two sides.
For Birkirkara, this was their last domestic assignment before heading into their UEFA Women’s Champions League commitments.
