Clive Mizzi, coach of newly-promoted 360 Sports Malta Premier side Melita, has been named as August’s coach of the month, sponsored by VBet.
Eligible voters for this award were club captains, team managers, media members and Malta FA national teams’ coaches.
Mizzi received 12 of the 24 eligible votes, with Paul Zammit of Sliema Wanderers following with 8 while Branko Nisevic (Hibernians), Darren Abdilla (Floriana), Andrew Cohen (Gżira United) and Joao Janeiro (Żabbar St Patrick) receiving a vote each.
Melita have enjoyed a bright start to their top-flight campaign, picking four points in their opening two games after a 3-3 draw with Floriana and a 2-1 win over Marsaxlokk.
In their third outing, just before the international break, a gutsy Melita lost narrowly to defending champions Ħamrun Spartans.
In three matches, Melita scored six goals and conceded six as well.
Forward Andre’ has scored half of Melita’s goals already as he is taking the Premier League by a storm.
As the Premier League resumes this weekend, Melita take on Gżira United.
