Bigger Prizemoney and a newly-produced trophy unveiled for finals
The EquestriMalta Grand Final for trotting is set to return for the second consecutive year on December 26.
This event will feature two finals: one for the top six most consistent horses in the Premier and Gold classes combined, and another for the top four most consistent horses in the Silver, Bronze, and Copper classes combined.
Once again, the standing handicap system will be applied, designed to create a spectacle by providing an advantage based on the respective class of the horses.
For this event, EquestriMalta will present a sponsorship prize pool of approximately €12,000, distributed across the two finals.
For the first time, the winner will receive a new trophy from EquestriMalta featuring an antique bronze figure of a trotting driver, complemented by handcrafted metalwork created by artist Sebastian Aquilina.
The horses will be invited to participate based on the Malta Racing Club rankings for the most consistent horses as of December 15, 2024, and they will be entered into the class where they earned the most points during the season.
The race distance will be determined by a draw held during a press conference scheduled at a later date.
The distance could be either 2160 meters or 3160 meters.
Further details will be provided in due course, and the draw is expected to be broadcast during the press conference.
