The 33rd and the 34th meeting of the season were held during the weekend at the Marsa Racetrack.
The three most important races were the finals of the Prix De Vincennes for class Premier trotters, the Prix d’Enghien final for class Gold trotters and the Prix De Cagnes Sur Mer final for class Bronze trotters.
These were won by Hudo Du Rouel, Doudou De Bouere and Kamila Des Monts respectively.
Twelve trotters lined up for the class Premier final.
As expected favourite, Hudo Du Ruel (Rodney Gatt) was the fastest horse at first, opening a small lead from Favici Pasmarick (Kurt Saliba) and Heros Des Mottes (Cherise Farrugia).
Hudo Du Ruel was unchallenged during the 2140 metres distance and past the finishing post easily by two lengths from Heros Des Mottes and Forbach (Redent Magro).
Gold Dairpet (Marco Refalo) and Farmer Keryvon (Jesmar Gafa’) also obtained a good place. The winner clocked an impressive average time of 1.12” per kilometer.
Doudou De Boure (Jean Claude Pace) gained its first win of the year in the class Gold final. This French trotter increased its speed during the last 500 metres and outsmarted favourite Far West De Chenu (Rodney Gatt) in the final straight. Heiko Vanceen (Noel Baldacchino) ended in third place from Hope (Charles Camilleri) and First Des Charrons (Redent Magro).
In the class Bronze final, Kamila Des Monts (Cherise Farrugia) led all the way and managed to past the finishing post first easily by a length from Java D’Urzy (Paul Galea) and Ilet De La Mitrie (Rodney Gatt). Hermes Du Pressoir (Laura Frendo) and Goldenboy De Chenu (Clint Vassallo) followed home in that order.
