This final, organised with the support of Bank of Valletta and held on a long distance of 2,640m, formed part of the 19th meeting of the season, consisting of eight races all for trotters.
Twelve trotters lined up for the class Premier final. As expected, favourite Hudo Du Ruel (Rodney Gatt) was the fastest horse at first, opening a small lead from Rally Inge (Jonathan J Farrugia) and Rampant (Cherise Farrugia).
Hudo Du Ruel led all the way and secured its third win in a row and in Malta, without any problem and by two lenghts from Rampant, Forbach (Redent Magro) and popular DJ Spritz (Daniel Hili). Gaucho De Houelle (Daniel Debono) followed home in that order.
For Hudo Du Ruel this was its third win in a row and in Malta in an impressive average time of 1.11.9” per kilometer. It should be noted that this is also a new national record on the long distance.

At the end of this final, Kenneth Farrugia, CEO of Bank of Valletta, presented the prestigious cup to Chris Caruana and Rodney Gatt, the driver and owner of the winning horse, respectively.
Also present was Minister Clifton Grima, Shadow Minister for Sport David Agius and officials of Malta Equidrome, Malta Racing Club and Equestri Malta.
Meanwhile, another meeting was also held on Saturday afternoon.
This included a normal class Premier race also on a long distance of 3140 metres.
Swedish Isabelle Sisu (Nathaniel Barbara) sealed its first win of the season after leading all the way during the entire distance.

This mare triumphed by half a length after sustaining the challenge of Gold Dairpet (Marco Refalo). Bordeaux As (Cliferty Calleja) and Fee Lucernaise (Salvu Vella) followed home in that order.
