Żabbar St Patrick sign Jurgen Pisani on loan from Gżira United

Żabbar St Patrick have reached an agreement with Gżira United to sign defender Jurgen Pisani, the Times of Malta can confirm.

The Saints are coming from a very encouraging performance in the 360 Sports Malta Premier Bottom 6 as the newly-promoted club produced an impressive fightback after a very disappointing start to the season as three wins and a draw in their final run of fixtures ensured they avoided the bottom places.

Still Żabbar are now looking to bolster their squad and have set their sights on bringing to the club experienced defender Pisani

The 32-year-old started the season at Gżira United after he moved to the Maroons from Santa Lucia last summer.

However, Pisani struggled to secure a regular place in the team since Giovanni Tedesco replaced Andrew Cohen as first-team coach.

Żabbar and Gżira United have reached an agreement that will see the former Floriana defender join the Saints on loan until the end of the season.

The Saints also finalised personal terms with the experienced defender and is expected to join Żabbar for first-team training this week as the newly-promoted club will kickstart their preparations for the Closing Round.

Pisani is unlikely to be Żabbar’s only signing in the January transfer window as although the club’s players have been given a short break, the same cannot be said of the club’s top hierarchy who are trying to bolster their squad.

Żabbar will open their campaign in the Closing Round against Sliema Wanderers.
