Watch: Greek left-back, formerly of Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, joins Hibernians

Hibernians have announced the signing of Greek left-back Apostolos Marinis.


The 24-year-old player, who is celebrating his birthday on Wednesday, joins at the back of a spell at Panathinaikos.

With the renowned Greek club, Marinis made 81 appearances with the B team.

Previously, he also played for Olympiacos with whom he started his professional career, managing to make two appearances at senior level between 2018-2020.

Meanwhile, Giannis Bastianos, also Greek, is heading away from the Paolites as he signs for PAE Chania is Greece’s second-tier.

At Hibernians, Bastianos scored 8 goals and registered 4 assists in 40 matches.

Branko Nisevic’s side opened the Closing Round of the 2024/2025 campaign with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Melita, last weekend.
