Hibernians continue to set the pace in the women’s league as they return to action this weekend against Mġarr United.

The league leaders are riding high after a thrilling 4-3 victory over Birkirkara last week, which saw them extend their lead to 36 points—four points clear of both Swieqi United and the Stripes.

Notably, Hibs welcomed winter signing Georgiana Mifsud, who made her debut in the dramatic win last weekend.

In a crucial battle for second place, Swieqi and Birkirkara, both on 32 points, face off this weekend as they look to maintain pressure on Hibernians at the top.

The Owls head into the match following a goalless draw with Mġarr United, a result that kept Mġarr fourth in the standings with 31 points and still very much in the title race.

Meanwhile, in the Bottom Four, leaders San Ġwann face Lija Athletic in their upcoming fixture.

San Ġwann recently secured a 2-0 win over Mtarfa, with Hailey Russell finding the net once again.

Russell remains the league’s top scorer with an impressive 18 goals this season.

Valletta, currently in second place in the lower section, edged out Lija Athletic 1-0 in their last outing.
