Gżira United continued to bolster their side with the signing of Serbian striker Nikola Disic, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Maroons have been very active during this month’s transfer window as coach Giovanni Tedesco looked to revamp his squad in a bid to challenge for a Top Six berth in the Closing Round.
Disic is Gżira United’s sixth signing this month following the arrival of Italian goalkeeper Giulio Mangano, defender Kurt Zammit, Dutch wingback Shaquill Sno, midfield duo Diogo Barbosa and Stefan Denic, of Serbia as well as Brazilian striker Macula.
The 26-year-old spent the first part of his career in Serbia where he was on the books of FK Smederevo, Javor-Matis and Lokomotiva among others.
In 2018, he moved to Germany where he donned the colours of JSG Aarbergen before returning to his homeland and don the colours of Zarkovo.
In 2023, he move to Kazakstan where he spent 12 months with Kaysar.
Last September the towering forward moved to China to play for WX Wugo but in the past six months, he only made three appearances for the club.
Now, Disic is looking to revive his career in Maltese football with Gżira United with the hope of helping them to challenge for a place in Europe.
