Valletta are back in the Premier League after only one season when on Saturday they sealed promotion following a 3-0 win over Tarxien Rainbows at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.

Needing just one point to restore their place among the top teams of Maltese football, the Citizens were on their task right from the outset and Andrei Ciolacu put them ahead after 16 minutes.

Enoch Mushagalusa doubled their lead siz minutes later before going on to sealing their win with a third goal on 53 minutes.

The result lifted Valletta to 47 points and take an unassailable 16-point lead at the top over Swieqi United and Tarxien Rainbows.

Valletta’s promotion is a fair reward to the hard work of the club’s top hierarchy, under the charge of president Claudio Grech, as well as the first team led by coach Thane Micallef who rebuilt a competitive squad who bounced back from the disappointment of losing their top-flight status at their first attempt.
