Swieqi United one win away from historic women’s league triumph

The Assikura Women’s League returns this weekend with just two matchdays remaining, and all eyes are on Swieqi United, who are on the brink of making history.

Leading the table with a five-point cushion over Birkirkara, Swieqi have their first league title within reach as they face their closest challengers on Saturday.

A victory for Swieqi would mathematically secure the championship, marking their first-ever domestic league triumph.

Even a draw could be enough to seal the title, provided Hibernians and Mġarr United also share the spoils in their clash later that day.

This will be the fifth league encounter between Swieqi and Birkirkara this campaign.
