Maicon enjoyed a distinguished football career. The wing back is a two-time winner of the FIFA Confederations Cup, while he also helped his country to two other Copa América victories.
At Inter, Maicon enjoyed a very successful spell which saw him help the side to four Serie A championships between 2007 and 2010 as well as two Coppa Italia medals in 2010 and 2011 and the Super Cup in 2006, 2008 and 2010..
However, the highlight of his career was winning the UEFA Champions League in 2009-10 that completed a memorable treble of titles as well as the FIFA Club World Cup in 2010.
The highlight of the celebrations will be the Gala Dinner on Saturday at 7:30 pm at the Grand Hotel in Mġarr, Gozo.
One can book tickets for the event until Wednesday by contacting Alvin Grech (Revolut 99884411) or Shaun Attard (Revolut 79710719 or BOV app 79045773).
Another activity will be a training session for the Gozitan U/13 boys at the Gozo Stadium, which will be led by Maicon himself.
Bajada expressed his heartfelt thanks to Visit Gozo, Visit Malta, Grand Hotel, and Gozo Frank Travel for their support in this first visit to the Maltese islands of Maicon and Stefania Marchionna.
