Gżira United wingback Thiago Espindola has decided to part ways with Gżira United after his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Brazilian defender announced his decision on his facebook page and said that he was grateful for all the support he received from the Premier League club during the past four years.
“After four amazing years at Gzira United FC, it’s time to say goodbye with a heart full of gratitude,” Espindola wrote.
“First, I want to thank the club’s board for believing in me from day one.
“To my teammates, thank you for the unforgettable moments and the friendships we built. It was truly an honour to share the pitch and the training ground with you all.
“To the coaching staff and all the coaches I’ve worked with, I’m grateful for your support and guidance. You helped me grow not just as a player, but also as a person.
“A special thank you to all the staff working behind the scenes, your efforts are a vital part of the club.
:And of course, to the supporters, hearing you saying my name from the stands is a feeling I’ll carry with me forever.”
Espindola was a regular member in the Gżira United side this season and played a part in helping the club retain its top-flight status after a difficult campaign.
The wingback was brought over to Malta by Ħamrun Spartans in 2017 and then moved to Sirens before joining Gżira United in 2021.
