Gżira United have appointed Clive Mizzi as their new first-team coach, the Premier League club announced.
The Maroons have been looking to appoint a new first-team coach following the departure of Italian mentor Giovanni Tedesco at the end of last season.
Mizzi emerged as Gżira United’s main target and after successful negotiations, he put pen to paper on a deal that will see him take over at the Premier League club.
“Gżira United FC is proud to announce Mr. Clive Mizzi as our new Head Coach!,” the club said in a statement.
“With years of experience and a deep understanding of the game, Mr. Mizzi brings passion, leadership and hard-working mentality our squad. We are confident he is the right man to lead the team into an exciting new chapter.”
On his part, Sharlon Pace, the Gżira United president, said that Mizzi fitted the profile of the coach he was looking for to implement the club’s technical project.
“For our new project I wanted a motivated Coach with years of experience as a coach and even as a player,” Pace said.
“Clive principles match perfectly with our Club vision hence it wasn’t difficult to appoint him as our new Head Coach.”
