The draws for the first rounds of the 2025/2026 UEFA European Women’s U17 and U19 Championships were held on Thursday morning.

In the U17 European qualifiers, Malta, placed in Pot 3 of the League B draw, has been drawn into Group B5 alongside Sweden and Lithuania.

League A features 28 teams, including reigning champions Netherlands and the seven teams promoted from League B after Round 2 of the 2024/2025 edition. League B includes 21 teams in total, featuring sides relegated from League A in the previous campaign.

The group winners and the best runner-up in League B will earn promotion to League A.

Malta has been selected to host the Group B5 mini-tournament, with matches to be completed by December 2. Specific match dates will be confirmed in due course.

In the UEFA Women’s U19 Championship, Malta was drawn into Group B6, where they will face Israel, Latvia, and Kazakhstan.

A total of 52 teams entered the competition, divided into League A (28 teams) and League B (24 teams) based on rankings from the second round of the 2024/2025 edition. Malta was seeded in Pot 3 of the League B draw.

The 24 League B teams are split into six groups, with the group winners and the best runner-up earning promotion to League A.

Malta will also host this Group B6 mini-tournament, scheduled to take place either between 20–28 October or 24 November–2 December, depending on final confirmation.
