Malta international defender Matthew Guillaumier is being linked with a move away from Polish football and join Greek side Panserraikos, according to reports in the media.
The 27-year-old midfielder spent the past two seasons playing in the Polish top flight with Stal Mielec.
However, this season Stal Mielec were relegated from the Polish top flight and Guillaumier has been continuously linked with a move away from the club.
According to Greek journalist Kostas Delis, the former Ħamrun Spartans midfielder is on his way to join the Greek Super League side Panserraikos.
For Guillaumier, playing in a foreign championship has always been a main priority, and should the report be true, he could be set to move to Greek football to continue to grow as a player plying his trade in a foreign championship.
This season, Guillaumier was a regular member of Stal Mielec, collecting 31 appearances and scoring three goals and providing four assists.
Before his experience in Poland, Guillaumier was on the books of the Italian side Siena where he amassed 11 appearances.
Guillaumier had caught the eye of his foreign suitors following a remarkable career at Ħamrun Spartans where he managed to win the Premier League title and help the club reach an historic qualification to the Play Off round of the Conference League in the summer of 2022.
In total, Guillaumier made 68 appearances for the Spartans, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists.
Panserraikos, under newly-appointed coach Cristiano Bacci, are preparing their squad for the Greek Super League where last season they just managed to retain their top-flight status after managing to with their play-out matches.
