Malta international midfielder Matthew Guillaumier has completed his move to Greek football, signing a two-year deal with Panserraikos FC.

Earlier this week, SportsDesk reported that the Malta captain was linked with a move to the Greek club after reports from Greece were reporting the possibility of this transfer.

Panserraikos, under newly-appointed coach Cristiano Bacci, are preparing their squad for the Greek Super League where last season they just managed to retain their top-flight status after managing to with their play-out matches.

They will start their pre-season camp on July 4, with Guillaumier and the rest of the squad expected to do their medical tests three days earlier.

Between July 20 and July 31, the team will head to Naoussa, at an altitude of 1,350 meters, where they will conduct an intensive training camp.

Last season, Guillaumier was a regular member of Stal Mielec, collecting 31 appearances and scoring three goals and providing four assists but unfortunately could not help his club avoid relegation to second-tier in Poland.

Before his experience in Poland, Guillaumier was on the books of the Italian side Siena where he amassed 11 appearances.

Guillaumier had caught the eye of his foreign suitors following a remarkable career at Ħamrun Spartans where he managed to win the Premier League title and help the club reach an historic qualification to the play-offs of the UEFA Conference League in the summer of 2022.

In total, Guillaumier made 68 appearances for the Spartans, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists.
