Malta international winger Trent Buhagiar will continue his career in Singapore after agreeing a move to BG Tampine Rovers.

Buhagiar will be looking to revive his career following a disappointing 2024-25 season where he struggled to secure first-team football.

The Australian-born winger left Australia last summer to join Italian club Brescia but at the Serie B club, he struggled for first-team football.

In January, Buhagiar moved to the Azerbaijan side Kapaz PFK where he made 14 appearances but, now he has decided to start a new adventure in Singapore.

“We’re thrilled to announce Malta international, Trent Buhagiar, as our second signing ahead of the 2025-26 season,” the Singapore club said in a statement.

“Born in Australia, Trent joins The Stags from Kapaz PFK of the Azerbaijan Premier League. He will undoubtedly add firepower and depth to our attack as we build toward the new campaign.”

Tampine Rovers are looking to go one better than last season when they finished second in the Singapore championship and have also qualified for the Asian Champions League.
