Hibernians FC are set to sign Romanian goalkeeper Laurențiu Brănescu.
The 31-year-old arrives at the Paola club on the back of a very colourful career that has taken him to several countries such as Italy, Croatia, and Hungary among others.
Branescu started his career at CSM Ramnicu, but in 2011, he moved to Italy where he played for the U-19 side of Serie A giants Juventus.
The experienced goalkeeper remained on the books of the Turin side but was loaned out to a number of clubs in the lower tier, such as Stabia and Virtus Lanciano.
In 2015, he went on loan to Hungarian club Szombathelyi Haladás before moving to Cyprus to play for Omonia Nicosia and then returning to his homeland to play for FC Dinamo.
Branescu’s football journey saw him move to Croatian side HNK Gorica, Zalgiris, in Lithuania, before heading to Scotland and play for Premier League side Kilmarnock.
During the past four years, he was back in Romania, and last season he was on the books of Ceahlaul.
Branescu represented his country at youth level, amassing 12 appearances for the Romanian U-21 national team.
