The Aquatic Sports Association of Malta announced that president, Karl Izzo, has been officially appointed as a committee member within the World Aquatics WP4 Committee.
The Technical WP4 Committee has been tasked with introducing and promoting the innovative 4v4 water polo format for both men and women.
This new format is designed to enhance the game’s dynamism, increase participation worldwide, and further elevate the global appeal of water polo.
“Izzo’s appointment reflects his vast international experience, technical knowledge and expertise in international waterpolo, having served as Malta’s national team coach and as a long-standing contributor to the sport’s growth both locally and abroad,” an ASA statement said.
“His role within the committee will allow him to contribute to the strategic development of this exciting new format.
“This appointment is of great importance to Malta, as it positions the country at the heart of water polo’s global evolution, further strengthening its reputation on the international sporting stage.”
