Graham Borg ends season with Sicily triathlon win

Triathlete Graham Borg closed out his 2025 triathlon season on a high note, taking the top podium spot in his age category and finishing 14th overall out of more than 160 competitors at the final Olympic-distance race of the Italian Triathlon Federation series.

Borg delivered a standout performance across all three disciplines. He opened the race with a powerful swim that immediately placed him at the front of his category. On the bike, he further extended his advantage, maintaining an impressive average speed of 41 km/h over the bike course, and he rounded out the event with a strong 10 km run, crossing the finish line in a season- best time of 2 hours and 2 minutes – a notable eight minutes ahead of his nearest rival.

The victory comes just one week after Borg claimed a third-place age-category podium finish in San Vito Lo Capo, the final sprint-distance race of the circuit in Sicily. The back-to-back performances highlight his consistency and form at the close of the season.

These results cap off a successful 2025 campaign for Borg – particularly noteworthy given that this was a short competitive season, as he only began racing in September.

Despite the limited preparation period and race schedule, he has quickly made his mark on the Italian triathlon scene, showcasing rapid improvement and consistent performances throughout these two months of competition.

With the short 2025 season now complete, Borg plans to begin his preparation for longer-distance triathlon events in 2026.
