Updated: Pablo Doffo takes over at Sliema Wanderers until the end of the season

Pablo Doffo has been installed as the new coach of Sliema Wanderers.

The Argentine midfielder, who this season was at the helm of Gozitan side Nadur Youngsters, has put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season.

Doffo fills the void of Paul Zammit who stepped down from the post of Sliema Wanderers head coach on Monday following the team’s shock exit from the FA Trophy at the hands of Swieqi United.

On Wednesday, the Sliema Wanderers’ top hierarchy held talks with Nadur Youngsters in a bid to reach an agreement to release Doffo from his contract.

Once that agreement was put in place, the Wanderers agreed personal terms with Doffo, who will now start his work with the Premier League side.

For Doffo, the Wanderers will be the second Premier League side he has managed, after earlier in his career he was at the helm of Marsaxlokk.
