Myles Beerman leave Sliema Wanderers to join Floriana

Floriana FC have announced the signing of wingback Myles Beerman.

The Premier League leaders have been chasing the signature of the lateral defender for several months but they have finally got their man on Thursday.

Birkirkara were also reportedly interested in the signature of the former Rangers wingback but have pulled out of the race, paving the way for Floriana to secure his services.

“Floriana FC is pleased to announce the signing of Myles Beerman, who returns to the club where his football journey began, joining from Sliema Wanderers FC,” the club said in a statement.

“A product of the Floriana FC nursery, Myles first wore the green shirt during his formative years, and his return marks a special homecoming for both the player and the club. Since then, he has built a solid career, gaining experience both locally and abroad, including time with Manchester City and in Scotland with Rangers, and developing into a dependable and versatile defender.

“Myles has also represented Malta at various youth levels and at the senior international level, bringing valuable experience to the squad.

“We are delighted to welcome Myles back to Floriana FC and look forward to seeing him contribute to the team.”

On his part, Beerman also took his social media to bid farewell to Sliema Wanderers and showed his gratitude to the Premier League club, particularly club vice-president Walter Arciola and secretary Alex Muscat as well as former club vice-president Andrea Zammit Tabona.

“All good things come to an end,” Beerman said in a statement.

“Words can’t describe the appreciation I have for this club. The club that made me fall in love with football again after the darkest patch of my life. Battled through tough moments together and succeeded together.

“A big thank you goes to my team mates, coaches, technical staff and all staff from the nursery all the way to the senior team and all the supporters. You were my second family for 6 years.

“A special thank you to vice president Walter Arciola, club secretary Alex Muscat and ex vice president Andrea Zammit Tabona for their commitment and work they did for me and the club.

“I wish the club all the best for the future and once again thanks for everything. Our moments will forever be cherished in my heart.”
