Chris Peplow and Joseph Casha eliminated from World Snooker Championship

Chris Peplow is out of the World Snooker Championship.

Malta’s participation in the World Amateur Snooker Championship came to an end on Thursday as Chris Peplow and Joseph Casha were eliminated in the Last 64 stage in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Casha had to play an additional preliminary game to advance to this phase, which he won convincingly against Serbian, Vasilije Pešić 4-0 with frame scores of 48-16, 64-55, 62-9, 76-26.

In the next round, Peplow and Casha faced English opponents.

Peplow was up against Luke Pinches who, like Casha, had to play a preliminary round earlier.

On his part, Casha faced former professional player Stuart Carrington.

The two Maltese players found the English opponents to be very tough and didn’t have much of a chance as they fell to an identical 4-0 defeat.

Peplow and Casha’s defeat ended Malta’s interest in the championship as all Maltese players have now been eliminated.

The championship will come to a close on Sunday when the final will be played.
