Former Ħamrun Spartans striker Djuranovic joins Sliema Wanderers

Sliema new signing Uros Djuranovic with club vice-president Walter Arciola.

Sliema Wanderers have brought back to Maltese football Uros Djuranovic.

The Premier League side have been very active during the winter transfer window to strengthen their squad and have set their eyes on the 32-year-old Djuranovic, who holds experience in Maltese football, having featured for Ħamrun Spartans two seasons ago.

Djuranovic was playing in Russia with second division side Arsenal Tula where he made seven appearances and failed to find the net so far this season.

However, Djuranovic had left a strong impact with Ħamrun Spartans in season 2024-25 as he helped the Reds to win the league title and the Super Cup, scoring 15 goals in 30 appearances.

“We are thrilled to announce the signing of 32-year-old Montenegrin Striker, Uroš Djuranović,” the Premier League club said in a statement.

“A prolific forward with a keen eye for goal, Uroš is a familiar face in Maltese football, having already spent a season in Malta where he impressed by scoring 15 goals in 1 season and also winning the league and Super Cup titles in the process.

“His experience, leadership, and proven goal-scoring record make him the perfect final touch to our attacking unit.”

After leaving Ħamrun Spartans, the former Radnicki Nis forward had moved to Novi Pazar in Serbia before heading to the Russian second division.

Djuranovic is expected to make his debut for Sliema against Mosta on Sunday.
