Maltese champions Ħamrun Spartans made a deadline day addition in French midfielder Kléri Serber.
The 27-year-old central midfielder has been plying his trade in French and Bulgarian football in the past.
Serber is a product of Olympique Lyon’s youth academy and then played for Nîmes II, FC Sète, and Toulouse FC II, with loan spells in Bulgaria at Botev Vratsa before joining Septemvri Sofia in the Bulgarian First League.
The Spartans described Serber as a player known for his midfield intelligence, work rate, and versatility in both central and defensive midfield roles.
Coach Giacomo Modica hopes he can add creativity and technical quality to their midfield for the remainder of the season.ż
Serber becomes the Spartans’ seventh transfer in the winter transfer window.
The Malta champions brought back midfielder Matthew Guillaumier while they also signed fullback Ivan Inzoudine, midfielders Michele Carboni and Danilo Bulevardi as well as forwards Damir Ceter and Blessing Ekele.
Added to that the Spartans have registered Brazilian forward Jonny.
