Birkirkara and Mġarr United will contest the Assikura Women’s Knockout final after both sides delivered emphatic semi-final victories, setting up this Friday’s final.
The Stripes produced a ruthless performance to dismantle Valletta 5-0. Gloria Cassar opened the scoring early on 14 minutes, setting the tone for what quickly became a one-sided affair.
Japanese forward Momo Ueda doubled the lead before the break and remained a constant threat, later adding her second late in the game. Maia Gauci extended Birkirkara’s advantage shortly after half-time, while Kleydiana Monteiro added a fourth just past the hour mark to put the result beyond doubt.
Despite a number of changes from the bench, Valletta struggled to contain Birkirkara’s fluid attacking play, with Ueda’s second goal in the closing stages capping off a dominant display.

Mġarr were equally impressive in their 5-0 win over Hibernians, continuing what has already been a historic campaign. Josline N’Guessan was the standout performer, striking twice inside the opening 23 minutes to give her side complete control early on.
Yulya Carella added a third before the break, with Maia Debono making it 4-0 just before half-time. Captain Abigail Camilleri scored the fifth in the second half, as Mġarr maintained their intensity and discipline throughout.
Hibernians did pull one back through Sarah Vella Barberi but it was too little too late for an audacious comeback.
The result keeps Mġarr firmly on course for a remarkable treble, having already secured the league title, going unbeaten, and lifting the Jubilee Cup earlier this season.
FINAL – May 1, Centenary Stadium, 2pm.
