Representing Pembroke, Bradley Mifsud delivered a remarkable performance in the discus throw, registering a distance of 56.53m to break his own national record of 56.41m. The throw further confirms Mifsud’s status as one of Malta’s leading field athletes, continuing his steady progression on the local athletics scene.
Another standout performance came from Savio athlete Jordan Pace, who clocked 52.81s in the 400m hurdles to establish a new national record in the event. Pace has now lowered the national best by almost two seconds within the span of a year, underlining his rapid development and consistency in the discipline.
The meeting also saw another impressive display from rising sprint star Thea Parnis. The Rush AC athlete clocked 11.75s in the 100m, establishing a new Under 20 national record, and establishing a high level MQS for the Under 20 World Championships. The race was won by Alessandra Gasparelli, a SanMarinese athlete, ahead of Claire Azzopardi in 11.72s. The latter then went on to win the 200m sprint in 24.08s.
Thea Parnis Coleiro also delivered a strong performance winning the 400m race in 57.08s. Among the men, Isaac Bonnici clocked an enouraging 48.99s.
