Valletta FC have announced the signing of Croatian midfielder Roko Prsa.
The Croatian midfielder is seen as a major transfer coup for the Citizens who are looking to build on a very encouraging first season back in the top flight, which saw the team win the Jubilee Cup and the FA Trophy, and qualify for the Conference League qualifiers.
“Valletta Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Croatian midfielder Roko Prša,” the club said in a statement.
“A player who needs little introduction to followers of Maltese football, Roko arrives at the Capital City Club with a reputation built on quality, intelligence, leadership and an unwavering desire to win.
“Renowned for his composure in possession, vision and ability to dictate the rhythm of a match, Roko brings experience and proven pedigree to a Valletta squad preparing for the challenges that lie ahead both domestically and in Europe.
“As we continue building a team capable of competing at the highest level, we are proud to welcome another player whose ambition matches that of our club.”
Prsa heads to the Capital club after leaving Sliema Wanderers at the end of last season, and the experienced midfielder will surely be determined to put behind him a low-key campaign which saw the Blues fail to challenge for any major honour.
In Prsa, Valletta are bringing in a talented midfielder who has enjoyed a lot of success with Ħamrun Spartans, where he managed to win two league titles and a Super Cup title, among others.
Prsa is unlikely to be Valletta’s only signing this summer as the club is looking to rejuvenate the squad ahead of the upcoming commitments in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers.
Valletta have so far confirmed three overseas players from last season, namely Brazilian goalkeeper Adilson Maringa, defensive midfielder Sava Radic and attacking duo Thaylor Aldama and Diogo Tavares.
