Ħamrun Spartans have completed the signing of French defender Messie Biatoumossoka.
The 28-year-old Congolese-born player joins the Spartans on a one-year deal with an option for another year.
The player is already in Malta, and on Saturday, he took part in the pre-season training along with the rest of his teammates.
Biatoumossoka heads to Ħamrun Spartans with a very interesting CV. The towering defender was on the books of Bulgarian giants Lokomotiv Sofia where he made seven appearances and scored one goal.
Biatoumossoka started his career in the youth ranks of French side Girondins Bordeaux and then headed to Belgium, where he donned the colours of Charleroi.
During his career, he had a spell in Cyprus where he played for PO Xylotymbou before moving to Romania and joining CSC Selimbar.
In 2022, he headed to Bulgaria, where he signed for Botev Vratsa before a spell in Morocco with AS FAR Rabat.
In January, 2025, he moved to Georgia and signed for Dinamo Batumi before making the move to Lokomotiv Sofia.
Biatoumossoka’s signing is seen as an important addition to Giacomo Modica’s squad as they look to repeat last season’s feat of reaching the League Phase of the UEFA Conference League as well as challenge for the main domestic honours.
