Gżira United have completed the signing of Malta U-19 international Nathan Joyce.
The Premier League club announced in a statement that they had secured the signature of the 19-year-old on a five-year contract that expires in 2031.
“A Malta Under-19 international, Nathan is regarded as one of the country’s brightest young defensive prospects,” the club said in a statement.
“His commitment until 2031 reflects the club’s long-term vision of investing in talented young players and building a team capable of competing for years to come.”
Sharlon Pace, the Gżira United president, said that he was delighted with Joyce’s acquisition and it reflects the club’s strategy of investing in promising young players.
“Nathan’s signing is another important step in the direction we have chosen for Gżira United,” Pace said.
“We are reshaping and rebuilding this club with talented young players who have the ambition, quality and hunger to succeed. This is the philosophy that brought success to Gżira in the past, and we firmly believe it will help us build another exciting future for our supporters.”
On his part, club technical director, Marlon Galea, said Joyce was a player the club has been following for a long time.
“Nathan is a player we have followed closely and one we strongly believe in,” he said.
“He is a modern defender with good technique and strong decision-making. Securing him on a long-term contract until 2031 demonstrates our confidence in his potential.
“Our objective is clear: to build a young, competitive squad with players who can grow together, develop at Gżira United and become the backbone of the club for many years. This is the identity we want to create once again.”
