Ħamrun Spartans are continuing with their efforts to bolster their defence as Macedonian defender Nehar Sadiki and Darko Gojkovic, of Serbia, landed in Malta to complete a move to the Premier League club.
The Spartans are keen to strengthen their defence following the sudden departure of Greek centre back Orestis Nikolopoulos who decided to continue his career in Greece with Aiya-Napa with his former team-mates Mattia Cinquini, Marco Criaco and coach Manuele Blasi.
Sadiki arrived in Malta on Saturday night and the 22-year-old boasts an eye-catching CV despite his young age.
In fact the 1.94m defender has represented Macedonia at U-21 level and was also on the books of top Macedonian club Rabotnicki.
Sadiki is expected to seal his move to the Spartans in the coming hours and is set to put pen to paper on a one-year contract.
On the other hand, Gojkovic is an experienced central defender who spent the majority of his career playing in the Serbian top two divisions.
In fact, Gojkovic has collected 57 appearances in the Serbian top division, netting four goals.
Last season, he was on the books of Zeleznicar Pancevo and also had spells at FK Hajduk.
Sadiki and Gojkovic’s arrival at the Spartans follow the acquisition of Brazilian wingback Arthur Oyama, who last season was on the books of Sliema Wanderers.
