Maltese karting driver Gianluca Dingli returned from Lonato where he competed in the third round of the Rok Cup Italia championship.
The event took place on Sunday, August 30.
Dingli competed in the Super Rok class which consisted of 14 drivers from different countries, Italy, Switzerland, Monaco, Andorra and Dingli, the only Maltese driver. Dingli raced as a driver with the Italian Valtex Racing Team.
During the qualifying practice Dingli finished in 12th place, while later he advanced four places and finished in eighth place.
In the first official race he advanced another four places and finished in fourth place. In the last race of the day Dingli on kart number 308 lost 3 slots finishing in seventh place.
This was the second time that Dingli raced at Lonato this year, he is becoming more and more familiar with the circuit and is determined to improve his performance there.
In the coming days Gianluca Dingli will be returning to Italy for further training in preparation to his ninth appearance at the International Karting Finals.
In a statement, Dingli thanked Valtex Racing Team and STM Engines saying that without their support he could have never made such success at South Garda Karting in Lonato.
