Mark Borg has been re-elected as Futsal Malta president for a fresh term.
Borg is no newcomer to futsal. He was instrumental in forming the association in 2011 alongside Donald Spiteri and had previously served as president for two consecutive terms. Borg also took responsibility as Tournament Director for Futsal Euro and World Cup qualifiers hosted in Malta.
In the newly formed FMA Committee, Claudio Azzopardi will serve as vice-president whereas Jurgen D’Amato and Alex Pace are the new general secretary and administrator respectively.
Matthew Borg has been appointed as treasurer, John Schembri, Peppijna Dalli, Mark Gauci and Jeremy Dalli are also part of this newly-appointed futsal set-up, overseeing Safety & Security, Marketing, Commercial aspects and Communications.
Borg underlined that this is particularly important year for Futsal because the Malta FA will be drawing up the MFA Strategy for Futsal & Beach Soccer, and FMA together with its clubs are important stakeholders in this process, during which active participation must be ensured to establish the vision of this sport for years to come.
Finally, Borg thanked the outgoing committee, and Dr Matthew Paris, the MFA vice-president for their relentless work towards the sport and their constant support.
