Hibernians Basketball Club have announced their signing of US point guard Mason Vires. The move, confirmed by Vires himself on his socials Tuesday, brings another American import player to Malta’s shores.
The 24-year-old from Michigan joins after completing his senior year at Culver-Stockton College in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division 1.
The speedy six-foot guard averaged 19.5 points, with 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists, was named the All-American Athlete by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) last season and was also a two-time all-conference performer for the Culver-Stockton Wildcats.
Hibs will be looking to use Vires’s strengths to help improve their tough start to the season (1-3) so far – their only win has come against Depiro (84-68) in November.
