Winston Muscat has been confirmed as the new coach of Sirens FC, the Premier League club said.
It was the Times of Malta that last April had revealed that the former Tarxien Rainbows coach was the outstanding favourite to replace Giovanni Tedesco as Sirens FC coach.
“Sirens Football Club would like to announce that Mr Winston Muscat has been appointed as the new Senior Head Coach,” the Premier League club said in a statement.
“Mr. Muscat will be replacing Mr. Giovanni Tedesco, who was appointed mid-way through last season.
“Sirens FC would like to thank Mr. Tedesco for the work carried out with the team and wish him success on his future endeavors.
“The experience gained by Mr. Winston Muscat within the MFA Technical Centre and as Malta Under-19 National Team Coach, will come in handy as the club is aiming to attract a number of young players to compliment the squad for the upcoming season.
“Apart from the stint with MFA, Mr. Muscat was head coach of various clubs throughout his career, including Zabbar St. Patrick, Vittoriosa Stars, Marsaxlokk FC, Naxxar Lions FC, Pembroke Athleta FC and Tarxien Rainbows FC.”
Muscat has been without a club since last February when he parted ways with Tarxien Rainbows and will be relishing the chance of returning to coaching in the Premier League next season.
